Lot 4.1.A - providing statistic on the mesh quality
SALOME, Blue Kenue, Janet, Trigrid, all provide some sort of statistics on the quality of the unstructured mesh.
This feature is to provide similar statistics. As a minimum, the feature developed within the SALOME-QGIS plugin will include:
node connectivity
- total number of nodes / triangles
- the number of neighbouring nodes for every nodes and a sorting according to:
- number of interior nodes with strictly less than 5 neighbours
- number of nodes whose number of neighbours is 5, 6 or 7 - quality nodes
- number of nodes with exactly 8 neighbours
- number of nodes with exactly 9 neighbours or more
- number of orphan nodes
- number of nodes between disjoint triangles
- the number of orphan elements
- the number of clockwise and counter-clockwise elements
- number of over-constrained triangles\
mesures
- values of min and max edge lengths and of min and max angle (*)
- 5-entry percentile table on edge length ratios between min and max lengths around a triangle (growth ratio)
- 5-entry percentile table on the equilateral-ness of triangles where the equilateral-ness is measured for each triangle as the difference between the min and the max length within than triangle (a value of 0 would mean equilateral)\
(*) If possible, being able to quickly "go" (graphically zoom) to the node/edge corresponding to the value selected.
